F.A.Q
Welcome to our Questions and Answers Page! This page is filled with common questions related to Colonoscopy, The Colonscope and other topics related to our project

- What is Colonoscopy?
Colonoscopy is the examination of the inner lining of the large intestine, also known as the colon, with the use of a colonoscope.

- What is the current method used to carry out colonoscopy?
A colonoscope is the device used to carry out colonoscopy. The current colonoscope model composes of a fiber optic camera mounted on a flexible with the width of a finger (approximately), that also has a source of light to get a clear visual of the colon.

-What materials were used for the colonoscopy simulation?
A clear PVC pipe was used to represent the small intestine. An air compressor was used to represent the air supply into the anus. A pill constructed with a 3D printer was used to construct magnetic colonoscope along with one external magnetic for the external components of the colonoscope.

- What methodology was used to attain magnetic levitation?
Magnetic levitation was a major challenge was faced throughout the course of our design. To get the magnet to levitate, we applied a great amount of pressure with the use of the air compressor. The excessive pressure pushes the magnet to the center of the tube. With the use of the external magnet, the internal magnet located in the pill is guided through the tube.

-How long did it take to construct the colonoscopy simulation?
The magnetic and pneumatic colonoscope is still under construction. We plan to finish constructing the colonoscope in two to three weeks.

- What was the most tedious task involved in this project?
Testing was the most tedious task of the colonoscopy simulation project. Testing involved learning how to regulate the pressure flow in the PVC tube and
